"I've never get such a beautiful thing like that other robot over there. " ―Elec Man, Super Conversion

Elec Man (Japanese: エレキマン Erekiman) is a Robot Master from the Mega Man classic series. He was built by Dr. Light to control electrical operations. Elec Man manages a nuclear power plant and can personally generate 500,000 volts of electricity. He is very fast and his powerful Thunder Beam can destroy Mega Man in three hits. This was changed in later titles, but his speed and attacking power, along with new lightning-based attacks, still make him a force to be reckoned with, and is still one of the most feared opponents in the original game.

Elec Man becomes a playable character in Mega Man Powered Up, if he's beaten using only the Mega Buster. In that same game, his personality gets a serious makeover since Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, as he is now very calm and noble, albeit arrogant and somewhat overdramatic. At the time of his creation, Elec Man was often hailed as Dr. Light's greatest creation and boasts superhuman calculation speed and razor-sharp judgment, as well as a physical agility that would not be matched for some time. He is very conceited and egotistical, but is otherwise very responsible and competent.

AnimeEdit

Elec Man, along with other Mega Man's brothers, appeared in the Super Smash Brothers anime. In this anime, his personality was based on Mega Man Powered Up, where he claims that he is very beautiful. However, his appearance is based on his classic self. He and his brothers appeared in all episodes, making them total protagonists. If Kris the Mew finds the one of Mega Man's brothers (mainly Elec Man), she'll inflate them obviously. Elec Man usually hates Robot inflation very much. Elec Man and his brothers are also the members of the Power Fighters.

ComicsEdit

Elec Man along with other Robot Masters also appeared in the Super Smash Brothers comics, where he helps Mega Man find the missing key for him. After, Elec Man and other Robot Masters joined the Power Fighters.

TriviaEdit

  • Elec Man is accidentally called "Electric Man" in the early issues of the Super Smash Brothers comics.
  • Elec Man is Keiji Inafune's favorite Robot Master from the first game, because he was the first robot he ever designed, plus his design is based on the character of the X-Men fame, Wolverine. He was also based on Wilykat of the ThunderCats fame.
  • In Super Smash Brothers comics, he is slashed in the chest twice. First by Blade Man's Triple Blade in "The Destruction Plan", and again by Quick Man's Quick Boomerang in "Mario's Revival".
  • Elec Man's stage music sounds very similar to "Faithfully" by Journey. It also sounds similar to R.E.M's "All the Right Friends".
